Stride — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Stride: Run & Recovery ("the app") analyses your training and recovery from Apple Health. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used. In short: your health data never leaves your device, and the only data collected off-device is what our advertising provider needs to show ads.

Health data

With your permission, Stride reads workouts and workout routes, walking, running and cycling distance, running speed, power and form metrics, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, steps, active and resting energy, body mass, body fat percentage and cardio fitness (VOâ‚‚ max) from Apple Health. It uses them only on your device, to calculate things like training load, matched runs, personal bests and a recovery score. Stride never writes to Apple Health, never transmits your health data off your device, and never shares it with anyone, including our advertising provider. Health data is never used for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app: tap your picture, then Apps, then Stride.

What you enter in the app

Journal entries, settings and the results Stride calculates are stored only on your device. There is no account and no server. If you use the export option in Settings, the files are created on your device and go only where you choose to send them.

Advertising

Stride displays ads through Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier), approximate location, usage and interaction data, and diagnostic information, and may use them to select and measure ads. You can read Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices about tracking and consent

The app asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether apps may track you. If you are in the UK, EU, or another region that requires it, the app also shows a Google consent form and respects your choice; you can change it any time from the app's Settings under "Manage ad consent." Declining means you may see non-personalised ads or, where required, no ads.

Not medical advice

Stride's figures are estimates for training purposes. They are not medical advice and the app is not a medical device.

Children

Stride is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
